Spirit is a quiet coffeeshop away from the busy Dam Square or Red Light District in the Jordaan area of the city down a road of shops, bars and restaurants nestled to the side. Inside it has a very comic feel, and fandom euphoria for comics, video games or films especially with the array of Arcade-era games including one machine with over 40 games of the 1990's arcade hits, to a fully-working racing game with seat and steering wheel. Finally to top of this awesome environment to smoke some weed inside, you also have movie and television themed pinball machines including a The Walking Dead one also.
Smoking a spliff and having comfortable surroundings plus the fun and nostalgia of retro gaming makes it one of the coffeeshops high points.
Next up the bud and customer service is great here at Spirit, the budtender knows their stuff and can explain any strain you have questions about. Some of the best hash and weed I've smoked has been from Spirit, and currently still visiting it on a daily basis on a long-term holiday here in the Dam.
It is clearly Dutch run which is amazing, it sells to the regular tourists but also to the local Dutch people who know of it's appeal.
Prices are fair, especially with the quantities you are sold from large crystal-covered buds, to dark and mellow bits of hash. You're not short changed, you get what you pay and ask for which is a great quality of coffeeshops to have since some have lost those traits.
Spirit is a comfortable, unique coffeeshop away from the tourist trap of Dam Square coffeeshops especially near the Red Light District and the Bulldog coffeeshops there which are overly expensive, and focused on tourists.
Spirit is a local establishment run by the Dutch, for the Dutch and tourists so you get some great strains and prices. Worth checking out when you're ever near Jordaan.
