Marijuana may be able to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease, a 2006 study led by Kim Janda of the Scripps Research Institute suggests. The study published in the journal Molecular Pharmaceutics, found that THC can slow the formation of amyloid plaques by blocking the enzyme in the brain that makes them. These plaques are what causes brain cells to die, the root cause of Alzheimer's.
Cannabis may not be thought of for its memory benefits, but it seems this plant can work in many ways.
